Arcwell Electric exists because the local trade experience is quietly broken — not at the workmanship level, but at every adjacent layer. The missed callbacks. The vague arrival windows. The verbal quotes. The handovers between labour-hire crews. We built a company around fixing that.
Our story
Arcwell was founded by Marcus Elwood, a fourth-year electrician who'd spent most of a decade working for three different Sydney contractors and noticed the same thing at each one: the workmanship was good, but the business around it was chaotic. Tickets got lost. Quotes never followed up. Customers waited days for call-backs that never came. The best electricians in the company spent half their time apologising for the logistics.
The original rule was simple: whatever we promise, we deliver — on time, in writing, with photos. Everything else would build from there.
Eight years later we're a team of eight licensed electricians, two operations staff, four branded vans, and a reputation across Sydney built entirely on finishing jobs the way we said we would. No franchise. No call centre. No subcontracted labour. Just the company we wished we'd been able to call when we were the customers.
The name comes from two ideas: arc — the live current that makes the work serious — and well — the standard we try to hold to, every time, whether we're replacing a switch or rebuilding a switchboard.
How we operate
Every quote, every scope, every variation. If it isn't documented, it doesn't exist. This one rule eliminates more disputes than any amount of customer-service training ever will.
Leave the site cleaner than we arrived. Label every circuit. Document the board. Photograph the finish. The next electrician — even if it's not us — should be able to start from a readable handover.
Full-time staff. Marked vans. Company uniform. Continuity matters. You should see the same couple of faces across a multi-year relationship, not a rotating cast from three labour-hire agencies.
RCD protection. Compliant earthing. Surge protection at the main. These go into every job whether the customer asked or not, priced in, not upsold. The part no one sees is exactly where we can't take shortcuts.
The team
Every Arcwell electrician is a full-time W-2 employee. Background checked, uniformed, insured under the business, and trained to the same process discipline. When you book Arcwell twice, you'll usually see the same technician both times — unless the scope deliberately requires someone else on the team.

Workmanship standards
We document our work publicly — every switchboard we install goes up as a reference photo in our project log. Not because we want applause, but because the visible finish is often the only proof a homeowner has that the invisible work is also correct.
If the visible cable routing is neat, the labelling is clean, and the termination torque is documented, you can trust that the earthing, the bonding, the RCD coordination, and the testing were handled with the same care. The finish is the proof because the finish doesn't happen without the rest.
